The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Connected Vehicle Technology Challenge (CVTC) is presenting a challenge that calls for novel uses of Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC), the wireless technology that enables vehicles to communicate. In the not-too-distant future, your car could tell you where to find available parking spaces or that there’s black ice about a mile down the road.
How would you use this technology?
Due May 1, submissions can be short and need not be highly technical. Finalists will receive a free trip to the Intelligent Transportation Systems World Congress in Florida this October to share their concepts with leading transportation researchers and investors. Plus, they’ll be among the first to test-drive vehicles equipped with DSRC devices.
